Dear art teacher,

Thank you for purchasing this course! As you will be going through units and lessons at your own pace, I hope you will get enriched, blessed an encouraged to implement this program at your school.

I want you to know that I taught this program to over 400 students, in 4 Christian schools, for 5 years. Also, I coached two teachers who were teaching this program. I witnessed how a well rounded art program can help students to advance their practical skills and knowledge of art making.

Please, never hesitate to email me with questions, suggestions or a request for help.

Art Teachers, Homeschooling Parents &

Sunday School Teachers

Due to the lack of Bible-based art curriculum in a public, private or a homeschooling environment, art teachers and homeschooling parents are often left with "famous artists" based curriculum, "project" based lessons, or with craft activities. Biblical truth rarely showcased in our children's art education.

Seeing this deficit and having desire to fix this situation I, through the prayers and years of work, came up with several different art programs for school-age children. New generation should be exposed to the building blocks of visual arts as well as building blocks of Christian faith!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.

I led this program for several years in one christian elementary school in Orange County, California. This curriculum has proven itself to be a very successful vehicle to deliver God's truth about creation of the world and a solid introduction to the Elements of Art that are based on Christian foundation. It's a great alternative to the Common Core program for the Christian educational system, and I am so exited and eager to share this program with you!

Elements of Art with God in Heart will be a great asset to the art teachers from private Christian schools, as well as homeschooling parents who are upbringing their children in Christian faith.

In this "Elements of Art with God in Heart" course you will find fundamentals of the Fine Arts blended with artistic skills, techniques, and discoveries of new art media and materials. All of these practical skills and knowledge will be wrapped up and founded on the Bible, on the Christian faith and character traits.

You don't need to stress out over lack of lesson plans or the Bible-based art curriculum any longer!

If Elements of Art are like ingredients of Visual Arts, then Principles of Art are like a recipe of how to use and combine those ingredients for the smooth and easy way of delivering your ideas to your viewers.

Masha Hemmerling
Masha Hemmerling

Masha (Maria) Hemmerling was born and raised in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Thanks to her artistic parents, she chose to be an artist at a very early age and studied in art and music school for children during her middle school years.

Masha proceeded with her visual arts education and was accepted into the Russian College of Traditional Culture. Following four years of study, she graduated with a diploma in fine arts with an emphasis on traditional Russian folk art. She also has a certifificate of advanced training in computer programs for artists and designers from the Academy of Methods and Techniques in Management.

During her first year in college, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and started volunteering in different church ministries. She also went on multiple mission trips to Russian villages and visited retirement homes, orphanages, prisons, and rehabilitation centers.

In Russia, Masha worked as an art teacher at the Technical and Vocational School for Disabled. She taught kids about the Bible through arts and crafts at the Sunday school. She was an art tutor and freelance artist and worked as an artist for different companies and nonprofit organizations. Much of her artwork is in private collections all around the world: Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, and the United States.

After moving to the United States, Masha Hemmerling participated in the personal art exhibit at La Vien an Rose (2004) and was the Orange District Fine Arts Festival awards winner (2006, 2007, and 2008). She answered to the artists’ call and became a winner of Orange District Fine Arts Festival call for book cover design (2006 and 2007). Masha’s original artwork was selected for display during the Munsell Centennial Color Symposium of 2018 and was printed in the special Munsell Centennial edition of the Color Research and Application journal.

Masha did some volunteer work as newsletter designer in PRT Women’s Club (2008–2010) and in FCS private Christian school editions of Box Tops and Labels 4 Education newsletter (2015–2016). She volunteered as an art teacher for Meet the Masters program for 2012–2017.

For the last five years, she worked as an art teacher in four private SoCal Christian schools grades JK-12, with all six of her art programs (including Elements of Art). She is currently continues to work in two of those schools.

About 200 of Masha’s elementary and middle school students have participated in ACSI Art Festivals and won multiple awards (2015–2019).

Masha started her Inspirational Online Art Studio “PaperPaint&Palette” in the summer of 2017. She is using her website and different social media as a platform for her art tutorials, digital courses, and live broadcasts that are based on Christian principles.

Recently she has started a project called “The Mission of a Painted Block,” where she is organizing local churches, school-age students, homeschooling parents, and members of philanthropic organizations to donate wooden building blocks. Then she brings volunteers and her art students to paint them with uplifting designs and inspirational words from the Bible. After that, painted wooden blocks are donated to the Containers of Hope and sent to different countries around the world, where they are being gifted to the local people.

Overall her experience can be summarized in few numbers: artist of fine, decorative, and folk art (thirty-nine years); art curriculum developer (seven years); art teacher in person (nine years); and online teaching artist (three years).
